From video doorbells to whole-home automation with Home Assistant. A software engineer who actually understands how all these devices talk to each other.
GET STARTEDMost "smart home installers" can follow instructions to install a Ring doorbell. But what happens when you want your porch light to turn on automatically when motion is detected at night? Or your thermostat to adjust based on whether you're home?
That's where software engineering skills matter. I understand the protocols (Zigbee, Z-Wave, WiFi, Matter), the platforms (Home Assistant, HomeKit, Alexa, Google), and how to make them all work together.
The ultimate local smart home controller. Open source, privacy-focused, and incredibly powerful.

Usually, yes! That's what Home Assistant excels at. I can often integrate devices from different ecosystems (Ring, Nest, Philips Hue, etc.) into one unified system with real automations.
For basic setups (a few WiFi devices with Alexa), no. For more advanced setups, I recommend a Home Assistant hub - either dedicated hardware or running on a Raspberry Pi or mini PC.
Day-to-day, no - everything works automatically or through voice/app. I'll train you on the basics and set up a clean dashboard. If you want to tweak things later, there's a learning curve, but I can always come back for updates.
Yes! Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell - I handle the installation and setup. Note: Some older HVAC systems may need a C-wire added, which I can advise on.
Ring is easier and cheaper upfront, but has monthly fees and cloud dependency. UniFi Protect costs more upfront but has no fees, local storage, and better quality. I recommend UniFi for serious security needs, Ring for basic convenience.
Tell me what you're trying to accomplish. I'll suggest the right approach.
